We know it’s hard to find time to go grocery shopping, let alone read all of the labels while you’re at the store. we have good news for you – Prevention Magazine recently put together Eat Clean 2013: Prevention’s 100 Cleanest Packaged Food Awards where they reveal the best, healthiest, and cleanest boxed and bagged foods on the market. Prevention’s editors ate their way through mountains of food in search of the most nutritious, delicious choices with the cleanest ingredients.
How clean do these foods need to be to make the list? Check out the criteria for foods to even be considered for the 100 Cleanest Packaged Food List.
We’re proud to announce that Silk Pure Coconut® was named to this list under the breakfast category. And, Horizon Organic® Cream Cheese, reduced fat was named to the list under the lunch category.

How nice of Prevention to read the labels for us!
WhiteWave Foods has been a longtime sponsor and supporter of Community Food Share (our local food bank) over the years. Community Food Share (CFS) will distribute approximately 8 million meals in Boulder and Broomfield Counties this year, and will provide nutrition and nourishment to more than 35,000 individuals in need who live near WhiteWave’s headquarters.
Recently, CFS received a commitment of $2.5 million from an anonymous donor to support the purchase and renovation of its new facility in Louisville. Colo. This new building is triple the size of its current one, which means CFS will be able to house more fresh produce and frozen food, and therefore help even more families in need. The only string attached to the donor’s contribution is that our local community must rise to the occasion as well. In order to earn the $2.5 million donation, CFS must raise $1 million by the end of the year. With $148,000 to go, we need your help to unlock the $2.5 million donation!
WhiteWave Foods has donated $250,000 towards this effort and you can help out too. Even just $1 can make a difference and giving is easy. Visit www.communityfoodshare.org and click on the donate button. You can also mail donations to Terry Tedeschi, 6363 Horizon Lane, Longmont, CO 80503.
Thanks for helping us help those in need this holiday season!
In November, many WhiteWave men (with the support of many WhiteWave women!) vowed to grow a moustache for a month in support of “Movember” – a moustache growing movement started in 2003 to help raise awareness and money for men’s health, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, and this year alone, more than 250,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate or testicular cancer.
The fine men who grow moustaches for a cause – also known as Mo Bros – effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November, helping raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation about these specific men’s health issues.
Here at WhiteWave, we rallied in support of Movember by voting for our favorite WhiteWave employee’s moustaches and making donations to this cause.
In total, we were able to raise $510 for the Movember Foundation, the Prostate Cancer Foundation, and the LIVESTRONG Foundation, a contribution we hope to double next year!
Week two of the Community Food Share “Compete to Beat Hunger Corporate Challenge” is underway. Here are just a few of the creative ways our employees are pitching in to beat hunger. Quilt auction, bake sale, golf tournament, pie throwing contest, and chili cook-off. Stay tuned for more throughout the week…

The New Year often sparks a time for reflection. Even if you don’t formally claim resolutions, you may find yourself talking about things you want to do more or less of, or things you want to change. I’ve often wondered why this happens. What is it about this time of year that drives us to think about things so differently?
Obviously, there’s the simple fact of the new calendar year. Over the holidays, I heard my relatives explaining to their kids that December 31 is like celebrating the Earth’s birthday. I really like that analogy, and perhaps we consider it a time to work on ourselves in some way, whereas a birthday is simply a time to celebrate.
In thinking about my resolutions, I think my biggest one is trying new things, whether it’s a new activity, new recipes or new places to explore. I think companies often take advantage of this time of year to try new things, too. Here at WhiteWave, we are offering some exciting new products launching from various brands:
Cheers to embracing the New Year by trying new things!
