Colorado Corporate Challenge 8K

Remember our post a couple weeks ago about the Colorado Corporate Challenge 8K benefitting Community Food Share? Well, the race was a success and our WhiteWave team of Rob Fagan, Jeff Abbott, Barbara Tingle and Katrina Warner took home the “Top Co-Ed Team” trophy. Great job Team WhiteWave Foods!

What: The Colorado Corporate Challenge is an 8K road race followed by fun activities. This race is about promoting healthy lifestyles, team-building, community engagement, and most of all…FUN! The 8K road course will run through the mostly flat, traffic controlled roads of the Colorado Tech Center.  Participants will enjoy aid stations on the course as well as a post-race celebration with food, beer, contests and an awards ceremony.

When: Thursday, June 20. Expo opens at 3:00 pm and the race starts at 6:00 pm.

Where: Colorado Tech Center in Louisville at Community Food Share’s New Location – 650 S. Taylor Avenue.

Why: Food, fun and run. Also, a portion of the proceeds will benefit Community Food Share. Every dollar donated to CFS translates into four meals for those in need in Boulder and Broomfield Counties.

Who: Runners and walkers are welcome. The Colorado Corporate Challenge is a team event, and it is necessary to be part of a team with a minimum of three people. Boulder and Broomfield County companies with teams of employees can compete for the coveted “2013 Corporate Challenge Cup”.

BolderBoulder Fun in the Sun

As you know, WhiteWave sponsored the BolderBOULDER. Under sunny skies, 50,000 runners & walkers participated in Monday’s race. WhiteWave sampled all kinds of products to hungry runners and spectators.

WhiteWave and the BolderBOULDER – more than just a sponsorship

Brian Allen from our Horizon sales team was on Denver’s 9News this morning to talk about WhiteWave’s sponsorship of the BolderBOULDER and the company’s training program for all employees in our Broomfield office. WhiteWave’s training program with Ric Rojas supports the health and wellness of Broomfield-based employees and is an example of how WhiteWave is working to become a different kind of food company.

The BolderBOULDER 10k is held on Memorial Day (this Monday!) and this year, WhiteWave has 80 employees registered to run the race.

BolderBoulder

Here at WhiteWave we take our business very seriously, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know how to have fun at the same time. Case and point via the video below, where we’ve captured a few highlights from a recent fundraising campaign as part of our Community Food Share Corporate Challenge efforts. Two WhiteWavers running the BolderBoulder, while executing a variety of random tasks paid for by other WhiteWavers. A bit silly, but the humiliation was a small task to pay to help feed some hungry mouths. We had a blast.

National Running Day

If you’re heading out for a jog to celebrate National Running Day, don’t forget the chocolate milk. The sweet treat is also a great recovery drink, and we just so happen to have the perfect portable option for you to take along on your workout…

BolderBoulder 2012

More than 100 WhiteWavers celebrated Memorial Day yesterday by once again participating in one of the world’s largest 10K races – the BolderBoulder. Check out the photo gallery below for a glimpse at some of the fun.

And special shout out to Ric Rojas and his team for once again lending their support and custom training programs for WhiteWave employees.

Amazing time at the BolderBoulder yesterday. Rather than recap it in words, we’re going to let the Duzer give you guys a taste…

Da Do Run Run Run, Da Do Run Run

Yes, the gorilla runs every year

It’s almost Memorial Day weekend and here in Colorado that can only mean one thing: Bolder Boulder – more than 50,000 people running or walking in the nation’s second largest road race. A 32-year-old Colorado tradition, and the perfect way to pre-burn calories before kicking back with good BBQ, and cold beer.

At WhiteWave, we couldn’t be more excited for the race. More than 100 employees have been preparing for months, and will be running, walking, skipping, and strolling, thanks to a WhiteWave specific training program from Ric Rojas and his team of coaches. Another one of the cool perks offered at WhiteWave.

We are also the official sponsor of the reusable BolderBOULDER lunch bag handed out to each participant after the race. And this year, we added a twist: We’re randomly placing five Golden Tickets in the lunch bags, each redeemable for a year’s supply of WhiteWave Foods coupons. That’s about $1200 worth of Horizon milk, Silk Soymilk, International Delight coffee creamers and more!

See this at the race, snap a pic, and tweet it to @whitewavefoods #bolderboulder to win

And in the sea of employees wearing WhiteWave T-shirts along the race course, keep an eye out for one shirt with this blog’s logo (pictured right). If you spot it, snap a picture and tweet it to @whitewavefoods with the hash tag #bolderboulder – we’ll randomly select one person to win free WhiteWave products for a year.

If you’re in town, be sure to visit us at the Expo after the race where we’ll be mixing and mingling, offering free samples, and even grilling up some kosher dogs and veggie burgers.

For those of you that can’t make the event, we’ll share some pictures and stories next week right here on The Grazing Mind.

Happy long weekend.
